At Amazing Hardwood Floors, we want your floors to look great and last a lifetime. While we carry a wide range of premium flooring—from hardwood to vinyl, tile, and carpet—proper maintenance is key to preserving their beauty and manufacturer warranties.

Always refer to your floor’s manufacturer guidelines for specific cleaning instructions. This ensures your cleaning & maintenance methods don’t void your warranty.

Universal Floor Care Tips

  • Vacuum or sweep thoroughly before mopping to remove debris that can scratch your floors.
  • Remove shoes at the door to reduce dirt, wear, and matting.
  • Use area rugs or mats at all entrances to capture debris (some synthetic backings can melt to floor)
  • 🪑 Put felt pads under all furniture to prevent scratching on hardwood, vinyl, and tile.
  • Note: Area rugs can accentuate sunfading on hardwood and vinyl over time — rotate rugs periodically to balance UV exposure.
  • Replace microfiber mop heads regularly to prevent added friction or dulling.
  • 🚫Never use steam mops on hardwood or vinyl. Use only when approved by carpet/tile manufacturer. When in doubt, minimize moisture for floor maintenance (too much water often leads to problems).
  • Maintain indoor humidity between 35–55% RH.
  • Don’t expose to direct sunlight for long periods.

Hardwood Floors

Recommended Cleaner: LOBA Universal Floor Cleaner Spray

  • Safe for all polyurethane finishes (water- and oil-based)
  • Leaves no residue — critical for future buff & coat adhesion
  • Fast-drying and pH-neutral

Maintenance Guidelines:

  • Vacuum or sweep frequently to remove grit.

  • Use LOBA Spray Mop:

    • Rinse and wring out microfiber head thoroughly (avoid excess moisture).

    • Spray cleaner and mop in smooth strokes with grain of wood.

    • Dry with a clean microfiber towel after mopping.

  • Avoid wax, vinegar-only, or oil soaps.

Long-Term Maintenance:

  • 🛡️ Screen & Recoat every 4 years for best protection and longevity. This simple process uses an abrasive pad to scuff the surface and we will apply 1-2 coats of fresh finish.
  • Regular maintenance supports future buff & coat options rather than full refinishing.
  • Caution:

Vinyl & LVT/LVP Floors

Recommended Cleaner: LOBA Universal Floor Cleaner Spray

  • Safe for LVT and other synthetic surfaces
  • Eco-friendly, residue-free, and quick-drying

Maintenance Guidelines:

  • Vacuum or sweep before mopping to prevent scratching.
  • Use LOBA Spray Mop with well-wrung microfiber cloth.
  • Dry with a clean microfiber towel after cleaning.
  • 🪑 Use felt pads under all furniture.
  • Avoid rubber-backed mats which may discolor vinyl or melt.
  • Use rugs at entries and remove shoes at the door.

Tile & Natural Stone Flooring

Recommended Cleaner: LOBA Universal Floor Cleaner Spray (safe for glazed and unglazed tile)

  • Safe for glazed and unglazed tiles

Maintenance Guidelines:

  • Vacuum or sweep regularly.
  • Spray cleaner and mop with a microfiber cloth.
  • Dry the surface with a clean towel after cleaning.
  • 🪑 Use felt pads under furniture to reduce wear.
  • Reseal grout and natural stone as needed per manufacturer instructions.

Carpet

  • Seams are part of every carpet installation and may be visible.  
  • Roll crush (flattened pile) is common after shipping and usually resolves within a week.  
  • Subfloor imperfections may show through.

Basic Maintenance:

  • Vacuum in a 360° pattern to reach all directions of fiber.
  • Use a vacuum with a manufacturer-approved beater bar (avoid exposed metal bars).
  • Deep clean professionally at least once per year, or more as directed 

Stain Treatment

  • For small stains, mix:

    • A few drops of dish soap + white vinegar + water

    • Blot gently — 🚫never rub.
